Educational goals
As the clinical arena is full of complex elements in applying nursing theory to practice, the most essential skill in the doctorate program is the ability to grasp the nature of problems in the medical field along with the characteristics of nursing practice. This program therefore aims to develop competence in both nursing practice and research activities. Another key aspect is developing skillful nursing leadership with the capacity to drive improvements and reforms in the field of nursing. Students will develop the following:
1. A deeper understanding of the complex elements operating at healthcare, medical, and social services facilities, and the ability to direct research towards innovation and reform in nursing practice
2. The ability to clarify and solve problems in nursing practice for prefectural-level pubic nursing administrations and within policymaking processes
3. The ability to navigate ethical issues from a technical perspective for patient-centered care
4. The ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate students at institutes of higher education to improve and transform nursing practice
