Teaching System of the Graduate School

The practice of nursing involves supporting people to be healthier in all aspects of their lives. At its core, it taps into human rights principles by helping them to independently overcome their challenges. Nursing should always be a patient-centered practice.

Our graduate programs dive deeper into the nature of patient-centered care, guided by the dignity of individuals and respect for human rights. Here, we aim to train creative, innovative leaders who are able to improve and transform nursing practices from a broad perspective. We strive to provide a nursing education steeped in both practicality and adaptability--one that ultimately improves the quality of nursing services available to the community.

Our courses are designed so that students can take them while working as nursing professionals. Our aim is to guide them in practical research rooted in solving the problems in practical settings.

Students learn the research methodologies that drive quality improvements in daily nursing care, with a focus on practices grounded in solid nursing ethics.

Our master's program is a full three-year course where students can take the majority of their classes on Fridays, Saturdays, and over the summer. The curriculum includes courses that allow students to get certified as professional nurses specializing in chronic diseases, pediatrics, and cancer as recommended by their employers.

This program is open to nursing graduates from vocational colleges.

Nursing demands practical experience, so candidates are expected to have at least two years' experience in the fields (if they are university graduates) or at least four years otherwise. The entrance exam includes a test of general nursing knowledge plus a specialty module, and an interview. There are no foreign language requirements on the exam.

Once students are admitted to the program, they will be expected to develop enough English ability to read English academic papers on nursing.

Students who are certified as type-one school nurses can elect to take the exam for student nursing specialists. Our doctoral program is designed to train university faculty as well as practical research leaders who are able to lead research on nursing challenges highly relevant to clinical settings.
